CMC / 1957 Maserati 250F / 1:18th scale

Red

CMC is commemorating Maserati's 90th birthday by introducing a breathtaking replica of the most beautiful Monoposto to ever grace a racetrack. In the eventful year of 1957, on August 4, more than 200,000 spectators watched the start of what was to become the Grand Prix of the century at Nurburgring. After an acrimonious conflict with two of his biggest rivals, both driving the Ferrari 801 F1, Juan Manuel Fangio was able to claim one of his biggest triumphs in his lightweight Maserati 250 F. It represented Fangio's 5th F 1 world championship title and assured his legacy.

CMC has recreated this legendary race from 1,387 individual components. The model is constructed much the same as the original. The tubular frame is separately built. Front and rear suspensions are absolutely realistic with springs, cabling, and exhaust. Open the engine hood by unlocking the 4 functional hooks. Inside is the perfectly scaled – exceptionally elaborate – 6 cylinder inline engine.

The cockpit features a textile covered seat, a precisely detailed dashboard, gear box and pedals. The gas tank fastens with a leather covered belt. The De-Dion rear axle with transverse mounted compound spring is made of stainless steel. The ribbed brake drums are authentic, as are the double-leaf central locking wheel-nuts, embossed with the "Borrani" manufacturer logo. On the rear are 301 individually formed and hand-inserted rivets, even with washers.
