        A few months after victory was snatched from them at Sebring, Dan Gurney and Jerry Grant were reunited to represent Shelby American at LeMans in a magnificent red GT40 Mk II. 13 GT40s entered the 1966 race, eight of which were the 7 liter Mk IIs. Gurney set the fastest lap at 142.98 mph in practice in his #3 car, chassis 1047.

    Gurney took a commanding lead through early hours of the 24 hour race. Eventually, the #1 Miles/Hulme car caught up and the two teams swapped the lead back and forth through the night.

    Unfortunately in the 17th hour, the #3 car entered the pits not to return, with permanent failure of its cooling system. C'est la vie.

    GMP has recreated this beautiful GT40 in 1:12 scale from over 400 individually crafted parts. Only 500 are being made. The model is big enough to appreciate every extraordinary detail: Width: 6" Height: 3.5" Length: 14.25"
