Highway 61 / 1951 Studebaker Commander V8 Coupe / 1:18th scale-Approx 11"

Black Cherry

A Thrill for The Throttlefoot!

The advertising from Studebaker promised the new 120hp V-8 to be a "thrill for the throttlefoot" as well as economical to run. With the 1951 Commander, Studebaker was the first car manufacturer to offer an overhead-valve V-8 in the low-priced car market. The all-new engine was competely designed by Studebaker engineers. The Commander not only offered unprecendented power for a car in it's price range, but also topped all other V-8 powered cars for mileage at the annual Mobilgas Run in 1951.

Precision diecast features: opening hood, doors & trunk. Realistic door & hood hinges, opening gas filler door, opening side vents, fully wired & plumbed V-8 engine, soft rubber tires, soft interior, steerable wheels and opening glove box door. NO ONE offers more in this price range!
