Highway 61/1963 Pontiac LeMans Coupe /1:18th scale-Approx 10"

Aquamarine metallic & Marlin aqua

"The Baby GTO". The 1961-63 Pontiac Tempests were quite innovative cars for their time. Masterminded by John DeLoreon ( considered the father of the GTO), these cars featured a unique front engine with rear transaxle for outstanding handling. ( As was proved in "My Cousin Vinny".) When teamed with fully independent rear suspension, like the Corvette, this little Wide-Track really stuck in the corners. With the optional 326 V-8, this package equated to 260 HP on a 112 " wheelbase. One year later, based on the innovative Tempest LeMans design and a big block 389, the GTO was born.

This outstanding precision diecast model from Highway 61 shows why they're moving up the charts.....fast! Flawless paint trimmed with real chrome foil, not silver paint. This process was a little rough on their first releases last year but this Tempest shows Highway 61 is working hard to get it right. The chrome foil is smooth and applied in small , tight areas with precision. Check out the pictures above to see the LeMans Coupe ( sedan-chromed post ). Detailed engine compartment featuring the 326 V-8, real hood hinges with springs, gas door and glove box doors open, vent windows open, interior carpet with Pontiac floor mats, trunk mat with spare and jack instruction sheet, working suspension front and rear, including the independent rear with twin-turning axle shafts. This is a hands down 5-STAR effort. I may have to shuffle the diecast standings.
