Highway 61/1963 Pontiac LeMans Coupe Super Duty 421 /Arnie Beswick SS/A Ltd Ed 2,500/ 1:18th
Cameo ivory w/ blue interior

The original Super Duty 421 Lemans Tempests were Pontiac factory-built, drag race-only coupes and station wagons, designed to combat other factory lightweights that had a weight advantage over the big Catalinas. Eventually six Lemans-badged coupes were built, along with six Tempest station wagons in white w/ blue interiors. All sported deceiving 326 V-8 emblems, cleverly hiding the 421 CI monster under the hood.
In addition, the SD Tempests featured aluminum front sheetmetal, aluminum bumpers and a unique 4-speed transaxle with a floor-mounted shifter. Other features included heater delete, trunk mounted battery, and hood scoop lifted from a competitors truck line. SD Tempests were built over the Christmas holiday 1962 and delivered just prior to the GM racing ban in 1963. Pontiac abandoned factory sponsored racing shortly thereafter, but not before making legends out of the drivers such as Arnie " The Farmer" Beswick, Jess Tyree and Arlen Vanke.
This outstanding precision diecast model from Highway 61 shows why they're moving up the charts.....fast! Flawless paint trimmed with real chrome foil, not silver paint. Detailed engine compartment featuring the 421 V-8, real hood hinges with springs, gas door and glove box doors open, vent windows open, interior carpet with Pontiac floor mats, trunk mat with spare and jack instruction sheet, working suspension front and rear, including the independent rear with twin-turning axle shafts. This is a hands down 5-STAR effort.
