Highway 61 / 1946 Chevy Stake Truck w/ Barrels / 1:16th scale
Red & Black

First introduced in the
fall of 1940, these GM Medium-Duty trucks featured all-new styling, influenced
by the Art Deco period of industrial design. The sealed-beam headlights were
streamlined into the fenders, instead of mounted on top as on previous models. A
90-hp, 216 c.i. straight six cylinder engine was standard in the ChevyŽ, with an
optional 93-hp 235 c.i. "Load Master" that generated 192 ft./lbs. of torque.
Three different engines were available in the GMC version, topping out at 270
c.i. Production ran until May of 1947, when they were replaced with the "Advance
Design Series" of trucks.
Stake body holds the spare tire and six oil barrels. Stakes
on rear remove for loading and unloading. Chains are included for securing the
load.
